boys' scent to the Dan River, which has
been swollen by rain and runoff...a
very worrisome place for the boys since
they can't swim...
That's why rescue crews say every

Roanoke furniture plant scheduled to be
closed.

June Hooker furniture's Roanoke
plant ceased production at the end of
August but according to a filing with
the Securities and Exchange Commission
Hooker has found a buyer for the
facility.
A spokeswoman would not
reveal the name of the buyer, because
the deal is'nt complete. An
announcement could come within a couple
of months.
Last June, Hooker announced
it would close the plant and lay off
about 275 employees.
The plant now has just a
skeleton crew.

headed to the pumps and didn't hold our
breath...one could say gas prices have
turned significantly lower.

Triple-A reports the Roanoke Region's
average price is $2-46 a gallon.
That's down 42 cents from one
month ago, and 62 cents lower than last
year at this time.

the lowest in Virginia.
While the lower numbers may sound
like welcome relief, keep in mind the
spike a year-ago was the result of
Hurricane Katrina's damage to Gulf
Coast refineries.
Prices fell almost a full dollar

disturbing murder of a disabled boy.

facing murder charges....
The two are accused of putting
thier 3-year-old foster child

burned it.
If convicted, the two will face
35 years to life in prison.
