A pedestrian was struck and

That person's identity has not been
released.

Norfolk-Southern says the
person was trespassing on railroad
property, and was walking along the
tracks when they were hit by the
westbound train.

N- S says the track speed in
that area is 45 miles an hour, though
railroad officials couldn't say exactly
how fast the train was going.

helping his brother escape from jail
pleaded no contest this morning to
three earlier robbery charges.

Last Month 26 year-old Michael Morva will be
sentenced in December for conspiracy to
commit burglary, attempted burglary and
attempted grand larceny.

Those charges date back to July
2005 when the Commonwealth's Attorney
says Michael along with his brother
William Morva and Gregory Nelson tried
to rob a bank and an A-T-M in
Montgomery County.

Three other charges were dropped.

Last month, Michael was charged
with possession of marijuana and
conspiracy to help his brother.

considering.

federal authorities about his finances
in a child support case.

He's scheduled to appear in federal
court tomorrow for a trial on charges
including perjury, making a false
claim, and mail fraud.

His attorney says Sampson would

Sampson faced a maximum of five
years in prison and a fine of
250-thousand dollars on each count if

maternity ward to the stars, Aiku
Hospital, to view his first son, and
third child.

Delivered early by C-section, the new
prince was reported healthy but
slightly underweight, at less than six
pounds.

News, Tokyo) Earlier this year, Japan
WAS preparing legal changes that would
have allowed women to inherit the
throne . But the birth of a new prince
has put those plans for a gender-blind
monarchy, on hold.



6. (NAT SOT, Shinzo Abe, government


spokesman) Shinzo Abe expected to be
named Japan s next prime minister
responded to the birth of a new prince
by calling for caution in reforming the
imperial succession law.



7. (TRACK) Traditionalists like Abe say
allowing females to inherit the

2,000-year-old monarchy is un-Japanese
but that view is clearly not shared by
the mainstream Japanese public.



8. (SOT, woman) It would have been


better if a princess had been born,
says this office worker. The succession
problem could arise again, so we should
change the system.



9. (TRACK, Masako and her daughter) If
women were allowed to inherit the
throne, the next child in line would be
Princess Aiko, daughter of the Crown
Prince. Polls show two-thirds of the
Japanese public favor allowing her to
become their symbolic ruler.

continue.

Today he appeared before a Vatican
audience sporting a wide- brimmed red
hat.

The hat, known in Italian as
"saturno" because it resembles the
shape of the ringed planet Saturn, was
popular with Pope John, the 23rd, who
reigned from 19- 58 to 19- 63.
