GRAPHIC=News7@6 Virginia is now included in the E-

Coli outbreak.

Late last night, officials with
the Virginia Department of Health
confirmed one case of the bacterial
infection, but wouldn't offer any other
details.

E- Coli linked to bagged spinach
has been blamed for dozens of

cases of across the country, including
one death in Wisconsin.

Seven students were inside at the

a carbon monoxide leak in a dorm killed

:00 Dobson, who was in his 80's,
passed away early this morning. Among
his pupils were former Hokies Chris
Kinzer and Shayne Graham.

Dobson didn't even start
coaching until 1989, when he retired
after 24 years as the County's School
Board Superintendent. He hired Joel
Hicks as coach. Dobson was on the
sidelines last night for Pulaski's loss
to Franklin County.

So, the Salem Animal Shelter held an
open house today.

The program was called "Day of H- O-
P -E"

Hope, in this instance, is an
acronym for "helping our
pet-overpopulation explosion."

Organizers say unwanted cats and dogs
are a big problem.

Those who adopted an animal today at
the shelter did so at half price.

The shelter was hoping today's event
would lead to at least fifteen
adoptions.
