:00 Today, they had the big unveiling
of the Edge Crossover at the Duncan
Ford dealership in Blacksburg.

J-D Power and Associates expects
crossovers to represent 18 percent of
the U-S auto market in four years.

A former Hokie who helped create
the vehicle says these types of
vehicles are so popular because they
have the best attributes of a car and
an s-u-v.

:00 26:12 I THINK WHEN PEOPLE BUY CUV'S AND
THEY BUY CROSSOVER VEHICLES...THEY'RE
LOOKING FOR GOOD GAS MILEAGE. THEY'RE
TIRED OF PAYING A LOT OF MONEY FOR GAS
WITH THE TRADITIONAL SUV. THEY WANT

SOMETHING THAT'S BETTER ON GAS.
CERTAINLY THE EDGE IS GOING TO GET
BETTER GAS MILEAGE THAN A CUV. I THINK
CUSTOMERS CAN EXPECT MID-20'S ON THE
HIGHWAY.:27

You can buy the Edge beginning in
