Jerry Palmer has invented the
pocket roster.
It's a laminated card that lists
Hokie players and positions on offense,
defense and even special teams.
He got the idea in the stands
while watching folks around him fumble
through newspapers and programs looking
for who Coach Beamer put in the game.

The pocket roster is 2-dollars
and 95-cents and is sold at University
Bookstores. INSERT GRAPHIC 5 seconds
into the VO tag.
By the way, Tech had another
record year selling Hokie Merchandise.
The University made more than a
million dollars from licensed products
last year.
That's about 30 million dollars
in retail sales.

GRAPHIC=News7at6 Clinton Jones underwent
gastro-intestinal surgery in 2004. Then
he died.
The family sued Carilion, and while
medical lawsuits are hardly uncommon,
it IS unusual for a settlement to
become public.
But the family promises to do just that
tonight on News 7 at 6. later today. We'll have the full story
