Standing before dozens of world
leaders... including many who strongly
oppose his foreign policy...President
Bush called on them to stand up
for peace.
Sot: President Bush
The President focused much of his
annual U-N address on the turbulent
Middle East...looking to build
international support from moderates...
to confront the war in Iraq, the
stalled Israeli-Palestinian peace
process and Iran's controversial
nuclear program.
(Harmelin Bridge/United Nations)
And while heads of state do business
inside the U-N...demonstrators are
in force outside...protesting against
U-S foreign policy.. Especially
the war in iraq.
(maybe pan to protestors...bring up
natz)
(natz, Bush with Chirac)
President Bush began his day with
French President Jacques
Chirac...undoubtedly talking about
Iran. The U-S wants sanctions
imposed on Tehran for defying the U-N
Security Council's demand to
freeze uranium enrichment. But France
is proposing to suspend the
sanction threat in exchange for renewed
negotiations.
Later today...the Iranian President
will present his case to the General
Assembly...where he will likely
continue to insist his nation's uranium
program is for making electricity only.
(natz)
For President Bush....his 6th U-N
address comes at a very critical time.
With public support for his foreign
policy very low at home and
abroad...the President is taking on the
daunting task of convincing
world leaders to follow his vision for
the future.

This is part of a plea deal that
takes care of 2 cases that were pending
against Clarett.
One accused him of holding up 2
people outside a Columbus Bar.
The other was from a highway chase in
August, where Police found 4 loaded
guns in his S- U- V.
The Plea Deal calls for a 7- and-
half- year sentence with release
possible after 3 and half.

The Cavs are set to turn to
Jameel Sewell out of Richmond's
Hermitage High school.
The Redshirt Freshman is expected
to start for the Cavaliers on Thursday
as they open up A- C- C play.
Sewell saw his first game action
this past week against Western Michigan
in the Wahoo's 17 to 10 loss.
He completed 7 of 10 passes for 51
yards and no points.
If Sewell does indeed start,
it'll will be the 3rd different
starting quarterback for U- V- A in its
3 games this season.
Another option for starting
quarterback could be Vic Hall.
Hall was recruited to
Charlottesville as a quarterback out of
Gretna - yet remains a backup
defensive back.
Some believe that the UVA
offensive problems are compounded by
the fact that Mike Groh - the coach's
son- is in his first year as offensive
coordinator.
The Cavs are 17 point underdogs.
