MIDDLE OF THE FIGHT.

FIRING THE LATEST SHOT -- TARGET VOWED
TO MATCH WALMART'S PRICE OF 4-DOLLAR
PRESCRIPTIONS ON HUNDREDS OF GENERIC

DRUGS.

BOTH COMPANIES PLAN TO TEST THE PROGRAM
FIRST IN FLORIDA BEFORE EXPANDING IT
NATIONWIDE.

ANALYSTS SAY ITS UNLIKELY RIVAL DRUG
CHAINS LIKE CVS, ECKERD AND WALGREENS
WILL FOLLOW SUIT. AND MANY QUESTION
WHETHER THE PRICE SAVINGS

WILL BE ENOUGH TO LURE NEW CUSTOMERS TO
THE DISCOUNTERS...

Scott Mushkin, Banc Of America
Securities: "You're giving up your
pharmacist, your having to drive an
extra couple miles. its just not a
switch most people will make."

Elise Hoehl, Customer: "I wouldn't
change where I'm going now, where I am
is where I stay."

ALEXIS CHRISTOFOROUS: WHO WILL SWITCH..
MOST LIKELY THIS COUNTRY'S 45 MILLION
UNINSURED WHO

MAY NOW START TURNING TO TARGET AND
WALMART FOR DISCOUNTED PRICES ON
GENERIC DRUGS.

ONE EXAMPLE -- LISINIPRIL, A GENERIC
BLOOD PRESSURE DRUG RETAILS FOR

MORE THAN 17 DOLLARS - A PRICE CUT TO 4
DOLLARS SAVES YOU 200 DOLLARS A

YEAR.

BUT THE SAVINGS ON MANY GENERIC DRUGS
WILL BE FAR LESS -- OFTEN JUST A DOLLAR
OR LESS A MONTH.

THE RETAIL MUSCLE OF WALMART AND TARGET
MEANS THEY CAN TAKE A LOSS ON

SOME GENERIC DRUGS...

SOMETHING THIS NEIGHBORHOOD PHARMACY
CAN'T AFFORD TO DO.

Jorge Ocasio, Pharmacist, Hilltop
Pharmacy: "This is definitely going to
impact our business in a very big way.
We can't compete with them, we're a mom
and pop shop."

THE BIGGER QUESTION -- WILL ALL OF THIS
PRESSURE ON GENERIC DRUG PRICING

HELP BRING DOWN THE COST OF BRAND NAME
DRUGS?

THE EXPERTS SAY THAT PRICE WAR HAS YET
TO BE WAGED..

GRAPHIC=News 7 Sports Good afternoon everybody and

welcome to the weekend. It has been a
less than stellar day for the Americans
at the Ryder Cup.

ENG#=1 VO-NAT

VO-NAT Tiger Woods and Jim Furyk got the

day started against Colin Montgomerie
and Padraig Harrington.

Woods certainly didn't have his
A-game, struggling all day with the
putter.

But he got bailed out by Furyk
who sinks the long birdie effort as
part of a 1-up victory for the first
full point won by the US today. Tiger
and Furyk later lost in the afternoon
to Luke Donald and Sergio Garcia. The
Americans trail 5-3 after day one.

the Panthers will do the same.

Ferrum hosts Shenadoah at 1pm at
Adams Stadium and some of the money
raised from the game will benefit Total

dropouts back in school.

To date, more than 500 dropsouts
have been put back in the classroom due
to this program.

Again, the kickoff is set for
1pm.

ABC Television They tuned in the season premiere
last night to find storylines that
seemed to have moved past the questions
without giving any answers.

That's because C-T-V aired the second
episode of the season by mistake.

Irate viewers flooded the phone
lines and email at C-T-V. The network
blames a "satellite feed error." It
promises to run the right episode next
Thursday.
