commercial airports to conduct live
disaster drills every three years.
Today local first responders were at
the Roanoke Regional Airport preparing

While the President did approve
federal aid to governments, funds for
individual property owners was not.

The aid covers government and

Funds are also available for

government projects that help reduce
disaster risks by protecting homes and
businesses against future damage.

the shelves in a few days.

Health officials say spinach grown
outside California's Salinas Valley is
safe to eat.

But they are not lifting the consumer
warning, until the industry figures out
a way to let shoppers know the origin
of the spinach they are buying.

Even as some spinach gets the all
clear -- two more states report cases
of e-coli linked to the outbreak.

So far 166 cases of illness have been
reported nationwide from 25 states
including Virginia.

competition with a good cause.

It's the largest turnout ever.

About 180 participants showed up
to test their skills at Dixie Caverns.
The combat shoot is an event
sponsored by local law enforcement.
Participants go through six stages
where they are placed in real-life
situations such as war zones and armed
robberies.

They are scored on their accuracy
and speed of hitting targets.

All the money raised goes to
fund the Cycle Youth Leadership Program
and the Special Olympics.

upfield. Pitts picked up some blocks
and went 80 yards on the play all the

On the very next play, Hawkins
