the shelves in a few days.

Health officials say spinach grown
outside of California's Salinas Valley
is safe to eat.

But they are not lifting the consumer
warning until the industry figures out
a way to let shoppers know the origin
of the spinach they are buying.

Even as some spinach gets the all
clear -- two more states report cases
of e-coli linked to the outbreak.

So far 166 cases of illness have been
reported nationwide from 25 states
including Virginia.

own life Friday morning.

Yesterday Ohio police say Jonathan Utin :00 tried to commit suicide by jumping off
a sink in his cell, and purposely
hitting his head on a metal bed post.

Utin appeared in court in
Middletown, Ohio yesterday morning with
a large bandage on his head.

Utin is accused of molesting a
12-year-old girl in Ohio.

Police say he's admitted to doing
this to many more children over a 30
year span.

Investigators say Utin was a good
friend of the family and the abuse
happened over several years, when the

postponments, Bob Shell has a new trial
date.

with the 2003 death of his model and
girlfriend, 19-year-old Marion Franklin
.

He's accused of supplying a
lethal dose of morphine to Franklin,
and of violating her corpse.

Shell was supposed to go on trial
last week, but his attorney had to drop
out because of an undisclosed medical
condition.

His NEW attorney took over Friday
morning and the NEW trial date is April
30th.

couple of cases of credit- card fraud.

They've released surveillance photos of

individuals they believe may be
involved.

to call the department or Crimeline.

Investigators believe the credit
card numbers were stolen, fake credit
cards were manufactured and the cards
were then used at local businesses.

While our area got some cooler
weather this week, in some parts of the
country... it's snowing!

VO NAT Yesterday was the second day of
snow in Colorado's high country and
already there were snow-related
shutdowns on some Interstates.

Highway officials closed portions of
I-70 due to road conditions and

accidents.

One driver, reportedly going too fast
for the conditions, lost control and
rolled over 200-feet down an
embankment. The driver survived.

Denver could see some snow flakes this
morning, but it probably won't be
enough to count as the city's first
measurable snowfall.

least 35 people in Baghdad.

The students repainted the boat in
hokie colors, installed maroon
carpeting, and even put in hokie
leather seats.

On the outside the Virginia Tech logo
is prominently displayed in a number of
places.

The electronics are also pretty cool.
There are several loudspeakers, an
Ipod, and even a dvd player complete
with two LCD panels.

Oh and by the way, it actually goes
out on the water.

experiment is catching the attention of
Southwest Virginians.

Within the last year, tobacco
farmer Johnny Angell decided to change
his ways.

He converted some tobacco fields
into fresh water shrimp ponds.

So far this year, he's harvested
about 900 pounds of fresh water shrimp.

Johnny says the shrimp are
sweeter than other shrimp and taste
more like lobster.

He'd like to sell all of his
shrimp locally.

But, he has explored other
options, like selling his product to
restaurants and grocery stores.
