GRAPHIC=Suspicious Death A Lynchburg man died in police

custody early this morning ... now
authorities are trying to figure out
what happened.

Police were called to the
800-block of Greenfield Drive around
three o'clock after security officers
there spotted a woman wanted on two
outstanding warrants.

When officers tried to arrest the
woman, another man in the apartment
interfered and police use pepper spray
to get him in handcuffs.

As he was being taken outside,
the man suddenly stopped breathing and
collapsed.

He was pronounced dead at
Lynchburg General Hospital.

GRAPHIC=Fatal Accident One person was killed and another

injured in a single car accident in
Botetourt County yesterday afternoon.

45-year-old Marshall William
Clark was traveling North on Route 220
in Eagle Rock around three o'clock.

Police say Clark ran off the
road, over-corrected, struck an
embankment and flipped over.

When police arrived, Clark was
dead.

The passenger, 46-year-old Leanna
Clark was airlifted to Roanoke
memorial.

Her condition is unknown.

The cause of the accident is
still under investigation.

competition with a good cause.

to test their skills at Dixie Caverns.

The combat shoot is an event
sponsored by local law enforcement.

Participants go through six
stages where they are placed in
real-life situations such as war zones
and armed robberies.

They are scored on their accuracy
and speed of hitting targets.

All the money raised goes to fund
the Cycle Youth Leadership Program and
the Special Olympics.

confrontation with security screeners
yesterday in New York.

Nicolas Maduro says he was illegally
detained for 90 minutes at New York's
JFK Airport.

Maduro says airport security
pushed him and frisked him.

And, he says his passport and
ticket were retained, but eventually
given back.

The Department of Homeland
security says Maduro bought his ticket
with cash yesterday and that arouse
suspicion.

Maduro believes this was all in
retaliation for Venezuelan President
Hugo Chavez calling President Bush "the
devil" earlier this week.

The cold front moving through our
area today, has a history of producing
dangerous weather.

ENG=1 VO NAT

VO NAT Thanks to strong storms,
residents near the Missouri/Arkansas
border are dealing with rising rivers
and wind damages.

An apparent tornado caused
extensive damage in one community.
Several homes have been damaged and
there are some reports of minor
injuries.

About 10 inches of rain fell in
parts of that area yesterday. An RV
park and campgrounds flooded, washing
some mobile homes completely away.

Rescuers found dozens of people
hanging on trees, some for hours before
being successfully rescued.

Two people have been confirmed dead.

VO NAT Severe storms caused a lot of
flooding parts of Indiana.

In Jeffersonville, Indiana, water

covered roads, making it difficult for
motorists to get around town.

Rain has been falling in that
area this past week.

In Kentucky, seven people were
reportedly killed when high winds and
heavy rain swept across the state.

Up to eight inches saturated some
places. Many are bracing for another
round as more rain may be on the way.

GRAPHIC=Suspicious Death A Lynchburg man died in police

custody early this morning ... now
authorities are trying to figure out
what happened.

Police were called to the
800-block of Greenfield Drive around
three o'clock after security officers
there spotted a woman wanted on two
outstanding warrants.

When officers tried to arrest the
woman, another man in the apartment
interfered and police use pepper spray
to get him in handcuffs.

As he was being taken outside,

the man suddenly stopped breathing and
collapsed.

He was pronounced dead at
Lynchburg General Hospital.

Illinois will undergo autopsies today.

VO-NAT The children were found hours

after a woman was charged with killing
their pregnant mother and taking her
fetus.

Their mother, 23-year-old Jimella
Tunstall was found dead last week after
her attacker slice fetus out of her
womb.

The suspect, Tiffany Hall, is
held on five-MILLION dollar bond.

She was turned in by her
boyfriend after allegedly confessing to
him last week.

Police are now trying to
determine if she was behind the kids'
deaths.

Osama bin Laden may have died of
typhoid last month in Pakistan.

A French newspaper sites a
document from a French intelligence
service saying Saudi secret services
are convinced the al-Qaida leader has
died.

French President Jacque Chirac
says the information is not confirmed.

Two American intelligence sources
say there's no evidence to suggest bin
Laden is dead, or dying.

But, Afghan President Hamid
Karzai says, if proven true, reports of
bin Laden's death would be "good news"
for the entire world.

The third annual Celtic Classic
Festival of Bands kicked off at Glenvar
High School.

Twelve bands from near and far
put their best foot foward competing to
be number one in different divisions.

Judges from around the area
looked for a number of things including

visual ensemble.

Franklin County and
Christiansburg high schools both got
local honors as they won their
divisions.
