defensive end Chris Ellis and receiver
Josh Morgan from the game after the
pair were arrested early Sunday
morning.
The arrest happened in the 100
block of Draper near a section of bars
and restaurants at around 1:50 in the
morning.
Police say they were called out
because a large crowd was gathering and
a fight was about to break out.
Morgan was arrested for
disorderly conduct and resisting
arrest.
Police say Ellis tried to incite
a crowd to stop Morgan's arrest and was
taken in for obstructing justice.

medical examiner William Massiello
after an autopsy today.
Police say 46-year-old Clarence
Lightfood Beard Junior resisted arrest
and punched an officer when they tried
to arrest him early Sunday morning.
Beard reportedly confronted
officers when they went to his
Greenfield Drive apartment to arrest a
woman on outstanding warrants.
He collapsed and stopped breathing
as he was being led outside and was
pronounced dead at Lynchburg General
Hospital.
The medical examiner is still
waiting for toxicology test results.

woman after she was convicted this
summer, but that wasn't the case...

behind bars again on animal cruelty
charges.

deputies found two dead dachshund
puppies in a carrier at her home on
Ridgecrest Drive last week.
The thing is - Yates was found
guilty of neglect last month after the
same officers found 25-animals crammed
in "feces covered cages" in another one
of her homes.
The Judge ordered that Yates not
have any pets or companion animals.
The animal's conditions shook
even experienced animal control
officers.

Drivers Don St. Denis and Michael
Simko collided on the track sending
Simko into the wall.
Simko jumped from his car, waited for
St. Denis and flung his helmet at the
car, jumped into the windshield of St.
Denis and the fight was on.
When St. Denis exited his car and
the two exchanged blows. The pair were
separated, but were unable to continue
the race.

the A-C-C's Coastal Division got a
whole lot tougher for the Hokies today
as two key starters were suspended for
the game.

This Season Head coach Frank Beamer announced
:00 today that Junior Wide Receiver Josh
Morgan - the man who has become a punt
blocking machine this season has been
suspended for the Ga. Tech game after
his arrest early Sunday morning.
Police charged Morgan with disorderly
conduct and resisting arrest.
Defensive end Chris Ellis also
was involved in the incident on Draper
Road according to police, who say he
tried to incite a crowd to stop
Morgan's arrest and was taken in for
obstructing justice.
Morgan leads the team with 2
Touchdown Catches and his dismissal
will be a big blow considering flanker
David Clowney is still recovering from
an emergency apendectomy he had last
Thursday.
Ellis' arrest and suspension are
eye opening in that he was warned in
the off-season to clean up his on the
field behavior.

Weekly A-C-C honors were handed out and
the Tech did bring home some hardware.

Saturday Victor "Macho" Harris was named
the Defensive Back of the Week for his
Performance against Cincinnati. The
Sophomore had 2 Interceptions one of
which he took back for a 72 yard
Touchdown that sealed the Hokies 29 to
13 Victory. The Picks were the first
of his career in a Hokie Uniform.
Harris also added 3 Tackles on
the day, this is Macho's first year as
a starter for Tech after being the top
recruit in the state 2 years ago.
