LOCATOR; NEW ORLEANS, LA
NATS: Game day programs 5 dollars
THERE'S NOWHERE ELSE ON EARTH
NATS: fans screaming (quick)
NEW ORLEANS FOOTBALL FANS WOULD RATHER
BE------
NATS: saints 3 and oh
(ESPN/NFL)
THAN IN THE NEWLY REFURBISHED SUPERDOME
NAT: saints come on field... fans
scream
TO WELCOME HOME THEIR SAINTS.
SUPER: GREG LUSIGNAN/SAINTS FAN
this building is so much more than just
one football game it's the catalyst for
bringing back New Orleans.
A NEW FOOTBALL SEASON, A PRACTICALLY
NEW SUPERDOME, A NEW START.
AND FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FRANCHISE
HISTORY-- THE SAINTS SOLD OUT NOT JUST
THIS GAME BUT THE ENTIRE SEASON.
STAND UP BRIDGE: STACY CASE/REPORTING
THE ONGOING MAKEOVER COST NEARLY $185
MILLION DOLLARS. IT'S THOUGHT THAT ONE
GOOD KICK HERE COULD KICKSTART THE
RECOVERY.
SUPER: CARTER ALEXANDER/HURRICANE
KATRINA SURVIVOR
It's an inspiration to me because I had
to fix my house also if they could do
that to the dome we should be able to
rebuild our houses.
BUT ALL THE PROMISE OF A FRESH START
HERE CAN'T ERASE THE DESPERATION SO
MANY EXPERIENCED.
NAT: I've got to tear all these
cabinets out.
ERIC BLUE SPENT SEVERAL DAYS IN THE
DOME STRANDED WITH 30 THOUSAND OTHER
PEOPLE DURING KATRINA. NO FOOD NO
WATER, NO WORKING RESTROOMS. HE WANTS
TO REBUILD, BUT DOESN'T HAVE THE MONEY.
SUPER: ERIC BLUE/HURRICANE KATRINA
SURVIVOR
You spend that kind of money on a
Superdome you know what I'm saying?
Nobody lives in the Superdome.. Nobody
lives in the Superdome.
CREWS HAULED AWAY FOUR THOUSAND TONS OF
TRASH AND FOUR MILLION GALLONS OF
WATER, HOPING TO TRANSFORM THIS ONCE
SYMBOL OF MISERY INTO A SYMBOL OF
REBIRTH. AND THEY'VE SCORED BIG WITH
FANS.
(ESPN/NFL)
NAT - Saints win!
FOR JUST ONE NIGHT-- NOTHING ELSE SEEMS
TO MATTER. FOR JUST ONE NIGHT--- IT'S
"DOME SWEET DOME." SC CBS NEWS>>

Some football fans in Denver are
trying to break the Guinness World
Record for the most continuous hours
watching the game.
But there are rules--
The contestants aren't allowed to
look away, and they only get a five-
minute break every hour.
They've watched all of the weekend
games, some football movies, and Monday
Night football.
Today they'll start watching re-
runs.
In order to break the record, they
have to stay glued to the set for 69-
hours, which should happen sometime
tomorrow morning.
