boat crash will spend 15 years behind
bars.

Bedford County judge sentenced Mark de
Tournillon-
It was back in June that de
Tournillon pleaded guilty to two counts
of involuntary manslaughter by
intoxication- for the accident in the
summer of 2005.
Earlier this month, de Tournillon
agreed to settle the lawsuit filed by
the estates of the Lewises in the sum
of just over two and a quarter million
dollars.

GRAPHIC=Shooting It's NOT a sound you typically
hear in the halls of a hospital, but
yesterday a single gunshot rang out at
Pulaski Community Hospital.

his 50's shot and killed himself inside
his room at the hospital around 9-30
this morning.
The man was in a rehab unit which
is in the skilled nursing area of the
hospital.
Investigators say they are still
trying to figure out how the man got
the .45 caliber handgun into his room.

federal charges for allegedly hiring
homeless men to remove asbestos from a
downtown building...without providing
them with adequate training or
protection.

John Edward Callahan could spend
up to 25 years in prison and a fine of
more than one million dollars.
Investigators say renovations
were under way at the State and City
building in February of last year, when
Callahan was awarded a contract to
remove asbestos in the basement.
They say he hired three homeless
men, knowing they were not certified or
trained in asbestos removal.

today to grapple over how to fix the
Commonwealth's transportation system.
Yesterday, the statewide plan
that called for a billion dollars a
year in taxes and fees was killed by a
House committee.
Regional plans for Northern
Virginia and Hampton Roads also failed.
House Republicans remain
adamantly opposed to tax increases.
They've proposed a package that
would raise more than two- billion
dollars over six years- mostly through
bonds-- something the Senate is opposed
to.

auditorium.

ready to spend twenty million dollars
totally renovating the nearly fifty
year old school.

Hollins University is facing criminal
charges in Ohio.

Patty O'Toole started work at
Hollins in mid-June.
Three weeks later she was jailed
in Ohio on a charge of failure to
report a felony.
As Dean of Student Affairs at
Notre Dame College, she learned of at
least two sexual assaults- but did not
report the information to police.
O'Toole was indicted by the same
Grand Jury that charged the suspect in
SIX RAPES on the Notre Dame College
campus.
O'Toole's new employer says she
acted appropriately.

as young as ten years old

of choice for students is alcohol.
When Roanoke County students were
asked if they had at least one or more
drinks in their lifetime....
-- the percent of high school students
who said yes, is down from four years
ago.
But that's not the case for
middle schooler's... this year it's up
to 33 -percent.
