GRAPHIC=FATAL ACCIDENT A fatal hit-and-run accident led
to a four-hour manhunt in Rocky Mount,
one that ended with the suspect's
capture.
The crash happened late yesterday
afternoon on Grassy Hill road just
above the Moose Lodge.
A woman in her 80's died and her
husband was taken to Roanoke Memorial.
No word yet on their identities or the
man's condition.
The driver of the other car fled
the scene, but the suspect was caught
about four hours later.

Home Loans has been filed after dozens
of people in the Martinsville area were
allegedly scammed.
Court papers indicate Robert Penn
of Indiana and his mother and sister,
Byou-lah Beulah and Sharon Penn of
Ridgeway worked together to convince
local residents to join a no cost
"investment club."
Lawyers for the company say
people's good credit was used for
fraudulent loans for homes like these-
Falling down, without walls, toilets in
the yard and visible wires hanging
free.
There was no answer at Beulah
Penn's home in Ridgeway and her
voicemail box was full.

style-meeting will be held on Tuesday,
October 3rd at "The Dutch Inn" at six
o'clock.

Yesterday, a worker discovered
that the kerosene was accidentally
tainted with gasoline.
If that mixture is put in a

identity of a woman found dead near her
home yesterday morning.

Pedro was discovered around 7:30 in a
wooded area off Lakeview Drive.
Investigators are still looking
into how she died.
Her body has been sent to Roanoke
