a new High School stadium tonight.

The Planning Commission voted 7

to zero tonight to recommend approval
of a 3-thousand seat stadium off
Price's Fork Road.

The school board says Bill Brown
Stadium is falling apart and needs to
be replaced.

But placing the stadium near the
Stroubles Strew-bulls Mill community
has been controversial.

Several residents there are
concerned about traffic and noise.

But dozens turned out at
tonight's meeting in favor of the site.

The Town Council will have the
final say on whether Blacksburg High
School gets a new stadium next Tuesday.

about the man who went on a shooting
rampage at an Amish school in
Pennsylvania.

Authorities say Charles Roberts

left a note for his wife saying he was
mad at God for the death of his
pre-mature baby.

And shortly before the shootings,
Roberts called his wife and confessed
to molesting two of his young
relatives, when he was just 12 years
old.

Center went on lockdown at 12:15 ---

but that was lifted about 15 minutes
later.

The school superintendent would not
tell us exactly what the student
said... We know Salem police were
called but no word on what action if

Florida sheriff's deputies are
waiting on an autopsy to positively
identify the body of 37-year-old
William Ashby.

Saint Augustine, Florida spotted his
car and gave chase.

They opened fire when the
suspect drove toward them while holding
a gun.

from Virginia to Florida.

That includes a missing U-V-A
student, 22-year-old Elizabeth Hafter.
Her body was found Sunday near one of
Ashby's getaway cars.

the Blue Ridge Parway in Augusta County
near Waynesboro...again, that manhunt
eventually ended in Florida.

urging all first responders to use
plain old English instead of ten
codes....

It's an effort to get rid of
miscommunication, especailly in
emergency situations where time is of
the essence....perfect example, the
I-81 accident...several different
jurisdictions responded and not all of
them have the same ten codes....

Now, most fire departments have
already converted to common language
but police departments argue ten codes
can be vital when dealing with an
officer's safety or information you
don't want the suspect to hear, like a
hostage situation.

a group of high school students hope to
"kick" some happiness into the lives of
Iraqi children.

a dozen soccer balls for the older
Iraqi children.

But he will actually be getting

The marketing students have

The marketing group has also
raised more than 600-hundred dollars
for shipping and to buy additional

Just when he thinks things can't
get worse....he's stung by a swarm of
bees as he waits for rescuers to
arrive.

As rescuers try to reach the
hiker, they also get attacked by the
bees.

Plan B is then put into action
and a protective suit finally does the
trick as a rescuer helps the hiker
