(END SOT) GUNMAN OPENING FIRE ON LITTLE
GIRLS inside AN AMISH SCHOOL HOUSE.
NOW THE CHILLING REVELATIONS ABOUT WHAT
THE KILLER MIGHT HAVE REALLY HAD IN
MIND.
Jeffrey Miller, Penn. State Police:
It's very possible that he
intended to victimize these children in
many ways before executing them and
himself.
BASED ON THE RANGE OF EQUIPMENT AND
HARDWARE CHARLES ROBERTS HAD WITH
HIM WHEN HE ENTERED THE SCHOOL IN
NICKEL MINES, PENNSYLVANIA , POLICE
BELIEVE THE 32 YEAR OLD MIGHT HAVE
BEEN PLANNING AN EXTENDED SEXUAL
ASSAULT ON THE GIRLS.
Drew Levinson/Nickel Mines, PA
In Roberts' final phone call to his
wife, he shocked her with the
confession that he had molested young
family members decades ago.. And his
rambling suicide notes said those urges
had returned.
Miller: Roberts states he's been having
dreams of doing what he did 20 years
ago and in his dreams he wants to do
them again.
In the note to his wife, Miller
expressed his anguish over loosing
Their new born daughter nine years
ago.
col. Miller; This was a deeply
disturbed individual, but it wasn't
apparent on the surface.
Mary Miller/suspect's Neighbor:
He was very very quiet, kept to himself
and was attentive to his family.
NOW THE CLOSE-KNIT AMISH STRUGGLE
FOR COMFORT THROUGH FAITH AND
COMMUNITY.
Jack Meyer, Amish Neighbor: We have to

sure that for years, the memory of
those young folks will be kept alive

neighborhood near Boulder.
Officers say the bear was probably
drunk from eating fermented apples.
She was near an elementary school, so

she has slept it off.
