This past summer gypsy moths invaded
nearly ten thousand acres on Poor and
Bent Mountains.
The insects feasted on the foliage,
stripping many trees bare and experts
fear it's only going to get worse.

GRAPHIC=Morva, Michael Michael Morva was beat up in the
Roanoke city jail Monday night.

VO-NAT You probably recognize that
name...he's the brother of suspected
cop killer William Morva...
Michael claims two men
punched and kicked him until he was
unconscious.
In a written complaint, Morva
says he was bleeding profusely from
head and neck injuries.
The city jail confirms Morva was
taken to the hospital for treatment,
though "he did not sustain any
life-threatening injuries," according
to Sheriff's Department Spokeswoman
Patricia Johnson.
Morva is in the Roanoke jail,
accused of conspiring to help his
brother escape.

has been given a makeover after a fire
badly damaged it.

:00 Psi (SIGH) house at the height of the
fire.
Investigators believe it started
on a couch on the front porch.
It was considered suspicious, but
no one was charged.
The nearly 100 year old structure
underwent extensive renovations over
the past year.
Six fraternity brothers live
there now, and they are holding an open
house this weekend.

Wood Brothers Race Shop The Wood Brothers announced today
:00 that Jon Wood will finaly move into the
cup ranks - even if it will be on a
part-time basis next season. Ken
Schrader will run 18 races for the
Woods and Little Debbie will stay on as
the main sponsor.
Wood also will continue to race a
full schedule on the Busch Series in
the same number 47 Clorox Ford.
Also, Stacy Compton will not be
back in the Busch Series next season.
Compton will return to the Craftsman
Truck Series in 2007 and continue to
drive for the Wood Brothers.
