But placing the stadium near the

Several residents there are

*CG locator Roanoke Co.

Well, it means less chaos...take
for example the accident on Interstate
81 Monday.

That required the response from
several jurisdictions.

And since not everyone uses the
same ten codes, in situations like
that, plain language is necessary.

The push to just speak normally
stemmed from 9-11, when several
different states with different codes
ran into problems communicating.

While you still hear those ten
codes on scanners, most of the fire
departments converted to plain language
two decades ago.

bgrebe@wdbj7.com Kimberly, taking a trip to
Jamaica would be fun for anyone,
especially teenagers who would be
spending time with teens with similar
interests.

Venturing Crew 8 of Roanoke did
just that at the 13th Caribbean

Honor and integrity are part of

also charged with the unexpected-duty
of dispelling the myth or stereotype of

But he will actually be getting
more than he requested.

The marketing students have
turned this into a drive, and they've

Donations have been rolling in
from students, parents and local

The marketing group has also
raised more than 600-hundred dollars
for shipping and to buy additional

Yesterday, council members voted to
rezone 130 acres of land between
Lakeside Drive and the Lynchburg
Expressway for the Lakeside Centre
project.

Plans call for a mixture of
retail, a grocery store, movie theater
and a hotel.

City leaders estimate it could end
up bringing in close to nine million
dollars in tax revenue every year.

The project will also displace 64
tenants of two mobile- home parks on
the land.

They'll be compensated for moving
expenses and given six-months notice
before they have to leave.
