As cameras are allowed a closer look at
the one-room school house where
this horrific crime unfolded.....the
Amish community is planning to bury
its dead. Four young girls will be
laid to rest tomorrow and a fifth
on Friday as this close-knit community
looks for ways to move on.

"There's a certain peace pervading each
household. There's a lot of
people meeting at each one of the
households, just giving the families
support."

The Amish do not have church buildings.
During funerals coffins are
carried in horse drawn carriages to a
cemetery where the focus is on
praising God rather than the deceased.
And the deceased includes the gunman,
Charles Roberts. He killed
himself after shooting 10 girls.
Despite his brutal actions...some
Amish have already forgiven him.

"An Amish neighbor came that very
night, last night around 9 o'clock in
the evening and offered forgiveness to
the family."
The Roberts family is also dealing with
disturbing developments...in his
suicide note, the 32 year old killer
admitted he was a child molester,
abusing 2 relatives 20 years ago.. And
that he dreamed of molesting
again. he wrote..."I am filled with
so much hate, hate toward myself.
Hate towards God. And unimaginable
emptiness."
And while a sense of emptiness engulfs
many here...one counselor says it
would be a mistake...to think the Amish
are ill prepared for a crisis.
He says while the community is badly
shaken...it remains intact.

And she's the first female ever
to run the department.

Crannis to head up the agency.
Crannis has been with the
department for 23 years and worked
nearly every position from patrol
officer to detective.
Crannis beat out more than 50

A swearing- in ceremony will be
held at the October 24th Town Council

BOSTON WOULDN'T WAIT, SO GRANDMA HAD TO
TRY TO CATCH HIM. Jill Murdock,

his head and turning into the Chevron

HAPPENED TO BE THERE DELIVERING BEER.
Uhi: "One of my customers come running
in, said a baby was being born and
could I please call 911 I screamed at
my beer guy Gabe." Nyberg: "Dianna
yelled at me, 'Budweiser, get your butt

THERE TO OFFER SUPPORT AND RELAY
INFORMATION. HE EVEN OFFERED HIS OWN
COAT TO KEEP THE BABY WARM. NATS: 911
CALL PARAMEDICS TOOK OVER FROM THERE,
AND BOSTON IS JUST FINE. HE AND HIS MOM
WERE TRANSPORTED ACROSS THE STREET TO
PIONEER VALLEY HOSPITAL, WHERE BIG
BROTHER MAX GOT TO MEET HIM AT THE
HOSPITAL. BUT FOR EVERYONE INVOLVED, IT
WAS A THRILLING MORNING. Murdock: "The
ladies at the Chevron were great,It's
like they had a baby, too. We were all
grandmas." Nyberg : "Doesn't matter if
you had a bad day or not after you
deliver a baby out there in the parking
lot" .

Martinsville Speedway is losing its
Busch Series race after just a one-
year return to the historic track.

July 20 The Busch series came back to
:00 Martinsville this July after a 12- year
absence at the track.
But NASCAR CEO Brian France has
decided to move the race to Montreal,
Canada.
The Busch series will race next
August on a two- point- seven mile-
long road course that is normally
reserved for the Formula One series.
This means NASCAR now has Busch
events in Mexico and Canada.

The Eagles were paced by Luke
Hoffman who finished 4th overall, and

This is third straight Northwest
