after an officer involved shooting last
night.

It happened last night just after
11:30, in the 38-hundred block
Stratford Park Drive in Roanoke.

Police were called after
neighbors complained of a 'disorderly
person' in the parking lot.

When they arrived they found
22-year-old Kenneth Michael Lanham.

According to reports- Lanham said
he had a gun and officers took cover.

Police say Lanham pointed
something at them and lunged in a
threatening matter.

That's when one shot was fired-
hitting Lanham in the leg.

night and then arrested on an unrelated
violation.

Danville Police responded to the
Express Line convenience store on
Richmond Boulevard around 8:30 for a
report of a man with a gunshot wound.

The victim, 22-year-old Scott
Levale Venable, said he'd been walking
near Purdum Woods apartments when
someone started shooting.

Venable was taken to the hospital
for a gunshot wound to his left
shoulder.

victim was wanted for violating
probation.

Once released from the hospital,
Venable was taken into custody, and is
held without bond in the Danville Jail.

Pennsylvania for four of the five
victims of Monday's shooting rampage at
an Amish schoolhouse.

In the aftermath of several deadly
shootings, school officials aren't
taking any chances when it comes to
safety.

That's the case today in Culpeper
County.

The entire school district in
Northern Virginia is closed because of
a bomb threat that was called in last
night.

Both public and private schools, as
well as several child care

centers, are shut down.

The sheriff's office, state police,
and federal authorities are now

searching the schools.

over in Blackburg - the 19- 86 Hokies
made some history by becoming the first
Virginia Tech team to ever win a bowl
game.

The player on that team returned
to campus for their 20 year reunion
this past Saturday.

And to the surprise of many - their
coach Bill Dooley was right there with
them.

ending aneursym Bill Dooley was his old
self as he self as he stood on the Tech
sideline.

The April 18th aneursym kept him
in the Duke Medical center for 7 weeks
and forced him to undergo extensive
physical therapy - but to talk with the
73 year old ACC legend, you'd never
know he'd ever been sick.

The 86 team rallied around Dooley
while his messy departure from the
university unfolded right before their
eyes. It ever there was a team that
took on its coach's personality - this
was it.

Eric Chapman quarterbacked the
team and Maurice Williams and Eddie
Hunter starred at tailback - but that
squad will forever be remembered for
Pulaski's Chris Kinzer - and his game
winning field goal against NC State as
time expired ar old Fulton County

child together.

The baby is due in early spring.

33- year- old Spelling and 39- year-
old McDermott are still newlyweds.

They were married in May in Fiji.
