teenage boy is under arrest for
carrying a loaded handgun near
Northside High School.

was already under suspension at
Northside.

He appeared to be heading toward
the school grounds when police
approached him late this afternoon.

Police say the teen was about a
hundred feet from the school property
line.

It is unclear whether police
believe he intended to harm any
students, faculty or administrators.

The suspect is charged with
carrying a concealed weapon and

carrying a firiearm within one thousand
feet of school property.

the road construction and wondered what
it is.

turning lane on Route 220/Franklin Road
heading into the shopping center.

It's clearly needed. The current
turning lane is too short often causing
a backup onto the highway.

So the state is now going in and

announced today he will NOT run for
president in 2008.

Warner made the decision over the
weekend while celebrating his dad's
81st birthday with his family.

He felt it was only fair to make

going on the run and killing two people
now faces THREE capital murder charges.

in the death of hospital security guard
Derrick McFarland.

This week a Montgomery County
grand jury indicted Morva on two more
counts.

Morva was served this morning
with capital murder for the death of
Montgomery County Sheriff's deputy Eric
Sutphin.

The third charge was added
because Morva is accused of killing two
people in less than three years.

If convicted, Morva could be
sentenced to death.

The Merrill Lynch corporation has
filed suit against 39-year-old Monica

one-point-two million dollars from
potential clients' accounts.

Yates was originally arrested and
charged with animal cruelty after
two-dead puppies and several

Roanoke County searched a storage unit
and her business at the Lamp Lighter
Mall seizing computers, documents and

his own home is now free....

charged with aggravated child abuse
after police say he tortured his son by
keeping him locked in a bedroom for
much of the past three years.

But, his wife claims her son was
not abused....she says the boy is
hyperactive and was locked in his room
at night to prevent him from going

The child has been removed from

Christmas. Today, Roanoke Police
acknowledged the gift of a new mountain
bike that will help this holiday
season.

patrol in 1997, and the bike officers
often work retail areas.

They say two wheels are sometimes
better than four when they're
responding to calls in congested
shopping center parking lots.

Target donated more than 700

during the holidays, Target officials
say the bike patrol can cut response

paintball field, but the Montgomery
County School System is voicing
concern.

Recently, he applied to the town
for a conditional use permit to build a
paintball field next to his business on

Nearby property owners were

In a statement to News 7,
Superintendent Tiffany Anderson said
"any activities that would encourage
involvement with materials that are in
violation of School Board policies
would be of concern."

Maxwell says he's willing to work
with the town and school system to
ensure safety.
