William Fleming's homecoming
activities continued as planned tonight
but even that was less than ideal.
That's because the team is currently
without a home so fans took part in a
tailgating party in the school's

They then headed over to William Byrd
to play the football game.
This year, Fleming has played all
their home games at their opponent's

Patrick Henry has played most of its

1925 "Phantom of the Opera" with Lon
Chaney, the man of a thousand faces."
UNIVERSAL'S CREATIVE DIRECTOR, JOHN
MURDY, SAYS THE VERY FIRST HORROR FILMS
LITERALLY SCARED FANS RIGHT OUT OF
THEIR SEATS. "They had never seen
anything like this in movies. So, the
first time the Phantom took off his
mask and revealed that horribly
disfigured face people screamed, people
fainted, people ran out of the theater.
So, it was just a tremendous impact on
audiences and it started a whole genre
of film. SOON, THE GENRE EXPANDED TO
TALKING PICTURES, AND WITH IT THE
GOLDEN AGE OF MONSTER FILMS EMERGED. "I
am Dracula!" "And of course we're
talking about "Dracula" and
"Frankenstein" in 1931, followed by
"The Mummy" in 1932, "The Invisible
Man," "The Bride of Frankenstein," and
on and on and on until "The Creature
from the Black Lagoon." "No! No!
Ahhhhhhh!! AFTER DECADES OF MONSTER
CLASSICS, IT WAS IN 1960 A CUTTING EDGE
DIRECTOR NAMED ALFRED HITCHCOCK TAPPED
A NEW VEIN IN THE HORROR FILM GENRE -
THE SLASHER FILM. "That film completely
shocked audiences. They hadn't seen
anything like it and it spawned the
slasher film genre. I'm talking of
course about "Halloween," "Friday the
13th," Nightmare on Elm Street." "This
is just a dream, he isn't real! He
isn't real..ahh!!!" (Freddy busts
through mirror) TODAY, MURDY SAYS
HORROR FANS EXPECT EVEN MORE... FORCING
BLOODIER MOVIES LIKE "HOSTEL", "28 DAYS
LATER" AND THE "SAW" FRANCHISE.
"Directors feel compelled to take it to
an entirely new level, because it's
really hard to shock an audience these
days." UNIVERSAL STUDIOS IS ALSO
PUSHING THE TERROR ENVELOPE "Beware to
all those who come to Halloween Horror
Nights!" BY BRINGING GORE QUITE
LITERALLY FACE TO FACE WITH GUESTS AT
THEIR THEME PARK. "It's like living a
horror movie and what could be better
than that?" BROOKE ANDERSON, CNN,
HOLLYWOOD. >>
