GRAPHIC=FFE Good evening one and all and

welcome to the latest edition of the
program known as Friday Football Extra.

It is Friday the 13th and over
the years we have had our share of
bizarre occurences on this date.

Tonight - we'll coincidentally,
bring you the hightlights of 13 games
from Amherst to Ridgeway to Radford.

GRAPHIC=SALEM/C'BURG And we begin with the Salem

Spartans - winners of of 27 straight
games.

The Spartans were back home
tonight hosting Christiansburg - which
by the way is the last team to beat
Salem back in 2004.

Christiansburg vs. Salem The Pride of Salem Marching Band :00 was on the field at the half with the
Spartans confortably in control on top
28-to-nothing.

Salem wold open the third with a
little air show as Mark Hanabury hooks
up with Even Fisher on this 30 yard
pass play moving the ball to the

Christiansburg 20 yard line.

A couple of plays later Jonathan
Clemo bangs in for the touchdown as the
Spartans push their lead to
34-to-nothing.

The game was out of reach but no
less intense as the Salem's defense
gets the pressure and the sack for a
big loss on third down.

The Blue Demons would try to show
some life. Harrison Hudson shows some
grit, but the gang tackle takes him
down as he had to be helped from the
field afterwards.
*CG ffefinal Christiansburg Salem wins its 28th straight 0 games improving to 6 and 0 on the Salem season. The final 41-to-nothing.

Salem at Bogle Field in what could be a
battle of unbeatens.

But before the Titans would worry
about hosting their good friends from

the City of Champions, they had to hit

champion in Pulaski County.

Never in the 23 year history of

Hidden Valley opend the third on

From their own 44, Brian Asquith fires
one over the middle to Joe Greenway.
The big junior makes a nice catch and
picks up 23 yards on the play for the

A few plays later, Asquith from
the 18. lookes to his right and
connects with hits tight end Kris

catch for the touchdown to push the
lead to 19--to-7.

The Titans then went for two -
and Asquith throws to the back of the

the conversion. The Titans take a
21-to-7 lead in the third.
*CG ffefinal Hidden Valley The Titans would control things 27 the rest of the way - as Asquith finds Pulaski Co. Greenway on another sweet over the 7 shoulder catch.

The Knights just couldn't catch a

That would lead to another

GRAPHIC=PLAYER OF WEEK The Amherst County Lancers picked

up another win this evening against
Staunton River. The new field turf is
proving to be a fast track for the
offensive players including
GRAPHIC=ALONZO POE FULL Alonzo Poe who is our Player of the

week for his performance last Friday
Night against Heritage.

This Senior Running Back has a
taste for the endzone
GRAPHIC=HEINER'S SLICE FULL as well as Pizza Rolls with Ranch

dressing. Poe also packs a punch much
like his favorite player Brian Dawkins
of the Eagles and Lil' Wayne is all
over his MP3 player.

Grant Kittelson introduces us to
the unselfish leader of the Lancers.

OQ=Friday Football Extra. << Alonzo Poe was one of the many
(END SOT) stars in Amherst's 51 to nothing win

last week against Heritage, The Lancer
senior did it on both sides of the
ball. running for over a hundred and
50 yards, and going for over 2-hundred
yards of total offense on defense he
tallied 8 tackles and 3 pass break ups.

(POE BITE:)

(COACH BITE:)

Poe's performance almost didn't

happen. The senior moved to
quarterback to start the season after
playing running back the 2 previous
seasons. The position change only
lasted for 2 games. After a loss to
George Washington, Coach Abell moved
Poe back to his old position.

(POE BITE:)

(COACH BITE:)

the willingness of Poe to do
whatever the coaching staff asks of him
is what makes this player a leader of
the team.

(BITES:)

(STANDUP: Not only did the loss to G.W.
prompt a position change, it also made
Poe and the rest of his teammates
realize that while there is a larger
goal that they are working towards,
they can't look to far ahead. (COACH
BITE:)

For know Poe and company will be
comfortable moving forward in their
correct position. For Friday Football
Extra, I'm Grant Kittelson
