GRAPHIC=Robbery, generic Roanoke City Police need your

help finding two men they say tried to
rob a pizza delivery driver.

It happened shortly after one
o'clock yesterday morning.

Police say the driver was making
a delivery in the 15-hundred block of
Abbott Street.

That's when he was approached by
two men.

One of whom showed a knife and
demanded money.

The pizza driver ran away without
being harmed.

Police say the suspects are two
males.

One was about 6-1 and 180 pounds.

The other 6-4 and 220 pounds.

investigation a weekend car crash.

The fatal accident happened
around 3:30 yesterday morning.

28-year-old Michael Taylor,
Junior was killed.

splitting it in half.

emergency crews fought to save his

eatery to close up shop this weekend.

Firefighters were called to the
S-B-A Caribbean Market in the
38-hundred block of Shenandoah Avenue
on Friday night.

When they arrived, they found
smoke coming from the front of the
building.

Crews entered and found the
furnace on fire.

They quickly put it out and began
ventilation.

Adjoining businesses sustained
minor damage.

Fire officials say no one was
injured, and the fire was accidental.

Rain that will eventually head in
our direction early next week caused
problems in Nevada yesterday.

VO NAT The deserts of the southwestern
part of the United States don't handle
a lot of rain in a short period of time
very well, and yesterday drivers in
parts of Las Vegas got another lesson

in flash flooding.

Heavy rain Friday night into
Saturday morning caused flooding across
the city and some of that spilled into
the streets.

In the southeastern part of the
Las Vegas valley, the heavy rain and
flooding created a small mudslide that
closed off a freeway off-ramp for
several hours.

There is good news; sunny skies
and drier weather are expected today
around Las Vegas.

VO NAT And the combination of poor
drainage and heavy rain is being blamed
for flooding at a veteran's
rehabilitation center in San Diego,
California yesterday.

Like in Las Vegas, it rained
Friday night into Saturday morning all
across San Diego.

Korea's nuclear weapons program has
begun.

The U-N Security Council voted
unanimously yesterday to impose
sanctions to penalize the country for
its claimed atomic bomb test last week.

But, North Korea's neighbors are
divided over the Security Council's
decision to sanction the communist
country.

In South Korea, small groups of
protestors started campaigns to boycott
North Korean imports.

The U-N called on all countries
to inspect cargo leaving from and
arriving in North Korea to prevent any
illegal trafficking in weapons of mass
destruction or ballistic missiles.

bars after police say he killed his
family.

shooting deaths of his parents and
three teenaged sisters.

The bodies were found early

millions of people.

walked in Elmwood Park to raise money
for the Alzheimer's Association
yesterday.

Alzheimer's is a progressive
disease that destroys the memory.

This annual event supports local
education programs and grants to the
caregivers of people who have the
disease.

The group raised almost
40-thousand dollars yesterday alone.

The Alzheimers Association is
working toward a cure and believes one
is not too far away.
