Fitzpatrick is facing questions, as
federal officials conduct an audit of
the Roanoke Redevelopment and Housing
Authority.

making a killing on-line, but an area
Congressman is happy with a new law
designed to bag the betting.

VO-NAT President Bush signed the bill

Friday, aimed at making the nation's
ports more secure.

But, it also includes a crackdown
on Internet gambling.

The law would keep gamers from
using credit cards, checks and
electronic fund transfers to cover
their losses.

Representative Bob Goodlatte
introduced the measure several years
ago, but was pleased to see that it got
a second chance.

Carroll County.

machines from the garage of a home off
Route 52 in Cana.

Investigators say the machines
generated thousands of dollars a week
and were used in games where the house
took a cut.

The sheriff says people even
traveled from North Carolina to play.

56 year old Charles Luther
Gillispie is charged with possession of
illegal gambling devices and conducting
an illegal gambling enterprise.

He's out of jail on a 20-thousand
dollar bond.

yesterday morning.

Jamison's the winning donor
in the Keep Your Motor Running
campaign, which encouraged people to
donate blood during the summer months.

registered for the campaign.

crash.

32-year-old woman inside her trailer,

year old William Reed Songer, Junior
admitted to authorities that he killed
his father.

spend the next half century behind bars
after pleading guilty to killing her
son.

40-year old Andrea Petrosky--- was

to go on trial yesterday in Bristol for
capital murder.

Prosecutors say she strangled her
six year old son at their Bristol home
in April of 2005 and then held him
underwater in the bathtub.. he died
later at the hospital.


But yesterday as jury selection was
about to get underway, Petrosky plead
guilty to a lessor count of first
degree murder and was sentenced to 50
