County/Salem Jail, on October 9 of this
year, Hodges sexually assaulted an
inmate. While police investigated that
case, they discovered accusations that
Hodges grabbed another inmate.

Police say that incident happened
earlier in the month.

Hodges was arrested on two different
charges.

board or name any of the individuals
who actions are under review, but Bill

responded to a fatal accident this
morning involving one of their own.

Their friend, 21 year-old Ronald
Grant Meadows was dead beneath the
wreckage.

State troopers say Meadows ran
off the side of the road, down a 75-
foot embankment and ended up in a

jail for an ambush shooting in Giles
County.

34 year old Timothy Wayne
Simpkins plead no contest this morning
to attempted capital murder.

woods on a hill and waited for his
estranged wife and her boyfriend to get
home.

Once they arrived, he opened fire
with a rifle, shooting his wife in the
hip.

at 'The Botetourt Center at Greenfield'

in the Fall of 2001.

The company makes the mobile
equipment for vehicles like
"cherry-pickers" and utility trucks.

It was announced this morning
Altec would buy 14-more acres and
invest an additional three-million
dollars in the county.

way -- dozens of positions are headed
to Smyth County.

Blue Ridge Aquaculture and
MariCal Incorporated are teaming up to
develop a new method of farming cobia
fish in Saltville.

The initiative is a 30 million
dollar investment and will create 60
jobs.

Blue Ridge is based in
Martinsville and has the largest indoor
tilapia farm in the United States.

to break a world-record, while feeding
the local hungry.

It's for 'Cans Across America.'

The university's dining service
is teaming up with schools from across
the country to collect more than
156-thousand pounds of food.

This afternoon -just over
230-cans had been collected.

Hollins hoped to collect more
than two-thousand cans in hopes of
breaking the Guinness World Record for
the "Largest Food Drive by a
Non-Charitable Organization in a
24-hour period."

The drive ends tonight at seven

o'clock.

the New York Times that he is heavily
leaning toward retiring at season's end

much made up his mind that he will
retire after this his 10th year in the
league.
