February 2004 Altec opened up its plant between
Daleville and Fincastle about five
years ago, and has expanded operations
several times since then.
Altec makes aerial lifts for
customers like electric utilities and
tree services.
The newest expansion is expected to
bring an additional three-million
dollars a year to Botetourt County.

respond to a fatal accident involving
one of their own this morning.

The wreck on Northview Street
in Narrows was discovered around eight
a- m.
State troopers say 21-year-old
Ronald Grant Meadows ran off the side
of the road, down a 75- foot embankment
and ended up in a creek.
Meadows died at the scene.

Avenue early Tuesday morning.

of China.
