still searching for a man they say
tried to shoot his wife.

Deputies responded to a domestic
call with shots fired at around 5:30
yesterday evening.
Marshall Metz, Junior, was
believed to have barricaded himself
inside the home on Towes Ferry Road in
Newbern.
But when police forced their way
inside, he was nowhere to be found.
Police say Metz is wanted for
attempted malicious wounding.

of molesting a child.

indicted by a Radford Grand Jury last
month on an aggravated sexual battery
charge plus two counts of forcible
sodomy.

The prosecutor says the incident
happened six years ago with a girl
under the age of 13.
By phone this afternoon, Reed

ties to Bedford was killed in Iraq this
week.

Haditha.
According to his parents, he
worked in an advanced intelligence unit
in which every member spoke Arabic.

have her son tonight after a boating
accident nearly took his life.

VO-NAT 28 year-old Kevin Ferrell was the
only survivor when his commercial
fishing boat capsized.
The accident happened yesterday
around 2 PM local time about 60 miles
from Sand Point, Alaska.
The crew was on a fishing
expedition when their boat met severe
waves sending everyone overboard.
US Coast Guards airlifted Ferrell
to safety.
The bodies of two of his crew
members were recovered but the search
continues for the last fisherman.

officials are calling a threat about
"dirty bomb" attacks on N-F-L stadiums
this week.

a 20 year old Milwaukee man.
Agents say he has been released,
but they still want to talk to him and

The Botek Family's tree farm took
top honors at the National Christmas
Tree Association's contest this
summer....and the prize is providing
the White House Christmas tree.
The Chief White House Usher
visited the farm and chose a 21 foot
Douglas Fir....
The family will meet the first
lady when the tree is delivered to the
White House in November.
