survivor tonight of a deadly boating
accident that happened at the tip of
the Alaskan Pennisula.

airlifted to a clinic in Alaska
following the boating accident. His
mother says he spent about 35 minutes
in near freezing waters yesterday.
However, he was discharged last night
and is recuperating from this
life-threatening experience.

fishing about 60 miles from Sand Point,
Alaska. He and three crew members were
on the Ocean Challenger when their
commericial fishing boat met 30 foot
waves.

him out of the water. She doesn't like

Representatives from the U.S.
Department of Housing and Urban
Development outlined serious concerns,
but few specifics during their latest
visit. And a final report won't be
complete until mid-November.
At the heart of the investigation
are contracts awarded to IMG, the
Roanoke consulting firm that managed
the makeover of the Lincoln Terrace
Public Housing project.
HUD wants to know if the housing
authority got it's money's worth, and
whether housing authority officials had
conflicts of interest when the contract
was awarded.

still searching for a man they say
tried to shoot his wife.

Deputies responded to a domestic
call with shots fired at around 5:30
yesterday evening.
Marshall Metz, Junior, was
believed to have barricaded himself
inside the home on Towes Ferry Road in
Newbern.
But when police forced their way
inside, he was nowhere to be found.
Police say Metz is wanted for
attempted malicious wounding.

week.

According to his parents, he
worked in an advanced intelligence unit
in which every member spoke Arabic.

month on an aggravated sexual battery
charge plus two counts of forcible
sodomy.

The prosecutor says the incident
occurred six years ago with a girl
under the age of 13.
By phone this afternoon, Reed
