GRAPHIC=SUBWAY 500 South Boston native Jeff Burton

sits on top of the points standings in
the Chase for the Championship at the
halfway point.

Although he is first there - he
will start 28th in tomorrow's Subway
500 at Martinsville.

He's not overly concerned about
starting in the back because perhaps

more than any other driver - Jeff gets
it.

He knows how be competitive yet
keep things in their proper
perspective.

Lu Lu Roman was in Roanoke today
at Family Christian Bookstore promoting
her work.

Roman has a CD titled "Orphan
Girl" which is a combination of
country, gospel, blue grass and R&B.

Her book Kitchen Komforts has
recipes and stories of her life and
times on Hee Haw.

Roman grew to popularity after 25
years on the Hee Haw set.

Since then she's stayed busy
writing and singing but she fondly
recalls her time on the show.

Old Fashion Fun Days kicked of
yesterday at the Garland Simmons's
Spring Valley Farm.

The event was an annual thing
nearly 20 years ago, but space problems

and timing put it on hold.

But it returned this year with a
two day event.

Activites included an Antique
Tractor Pull, Draft Horse Pull, crafts,
music, food, pony rides and plenty of
kid activities.

The Stewartsville-Chamblissburg
Volunteer Fire Department puts on the
event and hopes to bring it back again
next year.
