killing his grandmother.

stabbed JEAN Jamison to death.
His lawyer spent the entire day
in court yesterday detailing how Chris

23 year old Erik James Walker
went under water at around 12:30
Saturday afternoon and never came back
up.

three days now.
Fifteen divers spent much of the
day underwater, but they say the
current is making the search very
difficult.
Police say Walker was on the water with
a friend when their canoe capsized.
As they were trying to get the
canoe back to land, he went under when
they hit a deep current.

with several driving violations
stemming from wrecks yesterday
afternoon.

VO-NAT Police say 26 year old Michael
Blanco Dudley was chasing his
ex-girlfriend when they crashed at 5th
and Shenandoah.
Dudley left the scene, but was
involved in another wreck at 12th and
Chapman Avenue.
That's where police say he hit a
pedestrian and two other cars.
Three people were taken to the
hospital.

reckless driving, aggressive driving,

FRAY-lyn introduced the law.
At any one time there are 50-
thousand sexual predators online.
One in every four children ages
10- to 17 will be solicited at least
once, but few ever tell their parents.
Officials hope teaching students
about the dangers of the internet will
prevent them from becoming victims.

about this issue at a forum last night
at Hidden Valley High School.
Roanoke County's E-Learning
Coordinator told parents kids are too
often posting personal information
online, especially on sites like
myspace.
Not only can that attract sexual
predators but some of the information
or pictures they post, can come back to
haunt them.

salon and spend plenty of time with his
friends at the Christiansburg Moose
Lodge.

Jonathan Utin's confession to police
will be allowed in court when he goes
on trial early next year.

Utin is the former Blacksburg
teacher and swim club manager who is
now facing 16 charges in Butler County.
Investigators say Utin confessed
to molesting a young girl, and his
attorneys were trying to suppress his
statements to police.
Yesterday morning, the judge
ruled those statements are admissible
and set a trial date for the week of
January 22nd.

GRAPHIC=FIRE AFTERMATH A house fire has claimed the
life of a Radford woman.

It happened just after one yesterday
morning at a home in the 17-hundred
block of West Street in Radford.
Once firefighters got the fire under
control, they discovered the owner, 49
year old Alma Mae Jackson, dead inside.
A dog was also found dead.
Investigators believe the fire was
accidental.

struggles after losing their home and
belongings in a fire over the weekend,
neighbors are curious as to why a
nearby fire hydrant failed.

Falling Creek Subdivision tried to help
firefighters connect hoses up to this
fire hydrant.
But no water pushed through.

Even though firefighters who
responded to the burning home say it
was a loss when they arrived.....people

The Roanoke County Fire Marshall
says the investigation will take
several days to complete.
He says all of the hydrant issues
will be left for the town and/or county
to deal with.
The Falling Creek Subdivision is
located in Roanoke County, but everyone
there gets water from the town of
Vinton.
In a press release, town
officials said they would make every
effort to correct the pressure problem
with the hydrant.
