to build a Wal-Mart "Supercenter" in
the Clearbrook area just south of

Roanoke.

County Supervisors gave their approval
after midnight at the end of a marathon
public hearing.

of luxury car dealerships.

It would go up just across the street
from Clearbrook Elementary School, and
for that reason, some people have
concerns over safety and increased
traffic in the area.

Supporters argue a new Wal-Mart

needs.

The developer now hopes to begin
construction next spring, and says it
will then take a year for the Wal-Mart
to open.

Halloween kids are thinking about
costumes and candy, not flame retardant

That's why it's so important
parents take the lead in keeping their
kids safe.

The American Red Cross offers
these tips...
TAKE FS GFX TAKE FS GFX
CG2 11705 The group should walk on
sidewalks, not in the street.

Of course, look both ways and
only cross the street at corners.

And don't hide or cross the
street between parked cars.

Wear light-colored or
reflective-type clothing and carry a
flashlight.

Make sure to plan your child's
route and share it with your family.

It's always best to have an adult
go along.

Of course, look both ways and

Make sure to plan your child's
