more than 24-thousand acres..
authorities say theyll have to wait
for
daylight to make full assessment of the
damage.
So far, the fire has destroyed at least
10 structures.. including five
homes.
As many as 400 people stranded in an

escaped the flames.
Hundreds of others had to evacuate and
could not save everything in
time.

While they press ahead with the
investigation.. fire crews face another
long day battling the flames. Karen

MLB/Fox Turning to the World Series, St. Louis
is now one win away from the title.
Detroit gets the early lead last night
in game four.
Top of the second, Sean Casey's solo
home run makes it one-nothing.
The Cardinals get their first lead in
the bottom of the seventh. David
Eckstein ECK-stine flies to center, and
when Curtis Granderson slips and falls,
Eckstein has a double.
He'll score on a wild throw to first
base, and it's tied at three.
Same inning: Preston Wilson singles in
So Taguchi SOH tah-GOO-chee to put St.
Louis in front 4 to 3.
The Tigers tie it up in the 8th, when
Brookville's Brandon Inge doubles in
Ivan ee-VON Rodriguez.
But in the bottom of the inning,
Eckstein doubles off Craig Monroe's
glove.
That brings in Aaron Miles, giving
St. Louis a 3-game-to-1 advantage.
If the rain holds off, game five is
tonight.

California authorities say someone
deliberately set the blaze that has
killed four firefighters, and
critically injured another.
In less than 24- hours the Santa Ana
winds sent the flames racing across 24-
thousand acres.
California Governor Arnold
Schwarzenegger has signed an emergency
proclamation to free up state money to
help fight the fire.
Officials are also offering a 100-
thousand- dollar reward for information
leading to the person responsible for
