Authorities say a pickup truck ran off
the road, went down an embankment and
struck a tree.

The driver was killed.

Cassell CASTLE is out on bond after
being indicted along with a dozen of
his deputies.

and drugs from the evidence room, and
re-selling them in the Henry County
community.

The case broke last year when the
D-E-A intercepted a drug shipment to an
address in Martinsville.

The resident, a 35-year old
Bassett Furniture company worker, said

his landlord paid him to use the house
as a drug drop.

The man's landlord was a
sheriff's deputy.

When Sergeant James Vaught got
busted, he agreed to cooperate with
federal agents.

We met Frank Cassell when he first
ran for sheriff in 1991.

At the time, the issue was whether
Cassell was fit to be sheriff since he
retired from the State Police because
of a disability.

sheriff the most has been a lack of
money for his department.

He's often complained about the need
for a bigger jail and pay raises for
his deputies.

Police help after U.S. News & World
Report ran an article about the
problems with crack cocaine in the
Sandy Level community.

Drugs continue to be a problem there
but 3 years ago Cassell declared the
situation has improved.

Short were found murdered in their Oak
Level home, their 9 year old daughter
Jennifer was missing.

A national search turned up nothing

until a month later when Jennifer's

in North Carolina.

and drugs from the evidence room and
re-selling them in the Henry County
community.

The case broke last year when the
D-E-A intercepted a drug shipment to an
address in Martinsville.

The resident, a 35-year old
Bassett Furniture company worker, said
his landlord paid him to use the house
as a drug drop.

The man's landlord was a
sheriff's deputy.

When Sergeant James Vaught got
busted, he agreed to cooperate with
federal agents.

We met Frank Cassell when he first
ran for sheriff in 1991.

At the time, the issue was whether
Cassell was fit to be sheriff since he
retired from the State Police because
of a disability.

Marines will be on hand accepting
donations and spending the 10-thousand

for Tots drive and the good that comes
from it, is a welcome distraction from
the rigors of military life.

The most enjoyable moments come
