Virginia Tech student may have the
measles.

A university spokesperson says a
male student was treated today at the
health center on campus.

Blood tests were conducted and
will confirm whether he in fact has the
measles.

The university also sent out an
e-mail asking students to make sure
their immunizations are up to date.

Administrators believe this is
the first case of the measles at Tech
in nearly fifty years.

surge of support for Democratic Senate
candidate Jim Webb.

statewide, 52 percent now indicate
they'll vote for Webb.

44- percent favor the Republican
incumbent, George Allen.

The two had been virtually tied in the

Meteorologist Marc Lamarre will spend
two years in prison for it.

The 24-month sentence in Gilbert Dennis
Hadden's case... falls in the mid-range
of the sentencing guidelines.

heroin to Lamarre, though there was no
clear evidence of the drug in Lamarre's
blood work.

Hadden could have faced a life
sentence, if Lamarre had died.

racketeering case against the Henry
County Sheriff's Department.

Resource Officer David Allan King
turned himself in this morning.

He now lives in Joliet, Illinois.
King is accused of selling stolen
drugs from the sheriff's department
evidence room by way of Ronald
Trantham, among others.

Arrested last Thursday, Trantham
was released today, despite having said
one of the sheriff's deputies "better
watch what he's doing or they'll find
him in a ditch with a bullet in his
[butt].

other sheriff's departments feel.

Patrick Henry High School tenth year
reunion. They were on their way home
to South Carolina when they ran into
fog.

According to the National
Transportation Safety Board, Randy was
not a qualified enough pilot to be
flying on the foggy rainy day.

up their preseason schedule tonight
with another easy exhibition game win -
this time over Wingate.

Hokies shot a blistering percentage for
the field - tonight hitting 60 percent
of their shots.

Nare (nuh-REE) Diawara
(GUH-WOR-UH) - the six-six center from
Mali will get things started as she
hits the turnaround jumper off the
glass down low. She had 14 points.

This time she will heave one down
the court and get the assist to Kirby
Copeland, who reels in the pass and
scores. Copeland led all scorers with
15 points.

Then sophomore Laura Haskins -
will dribble up - stop and pop the

jumper. The northern Virginia native
tallied 8 on the evening. *CG final Wingate
59 And Copeland would finish things Virginia Tech off. The Hokies beat Wingate 101-to-59 101 and now get set for the start of the

Last Saturday Xavier Adibi has been named the :00 ACC Defensive Lineman of the Week.
Adibi was credited with an
interception, nine tackles, a sack, a
tackle for loss, a forced fumble and
two quarterback hurries in the Hokies

Bowl. The junior inside linebacker's
pick in the fourth-quarter set up the
Hokies' game winning TD.

A pair of pythons in a pen near
the gift shop were killed....and a pair
of crocodiles which are missing are
presumed dead.


Investigators are sifting

Employees of the attraction are
showing up...anxious to get back to
work....

It is unclear when the park will
reopen.
