Voters will face tomorrow is whether
to approve a meals tax---
ENG=3 VO NAT
VO NAT If the referendum passes.. it
could mean a tax on all food and
beverages sold at restaurants in the
county.
If the referedum passes.. county
supervisors would still have to vote on
a meals tax-and it would go up for a
public hearing.
The most county could tax is four
percent.. or four cents on every
dollar.
The county administrator says a
four percent tax would generate 500-
thousand dollars a year---
He says it would be better than a
real estate tax hike because many
people from out of town eat at local
restaurants- and would help pay the
tax.
END VO END VO

are against a tax- saying it'll hurt
their business by driving up bills.
