GRAPHIC=Accident Last night's head-on crash that

injured five people in Bedford County
apparently started out as a hit-and-run
investigation in Campbell County.

Authorities say a motorist called
9-1-1 to report his car had been hit by
a truck that left the scene.

He followed it and a Campbell
County deputy caught up with them on
Route 811.

But while the deputy was talking
with the hit-and-run victim, the driver
of the other car sped off.
