44 per cent favor the Republican

The two had been virtually tied in the

voters at a Northern Virginia subway
station this morning, but he was
immediately mobbed by both supporters
and protesters.
There was a little shoving and a lot
of shouting, making it almost
impossible for anyone to hear what
Allen had to say.
Among the protesters was anti-war
activist Cindy Sheehan, who said she
came to Virginia to support anti- war
peace candidates.

Rudy Giuliani to help make his last

responded to an accident in Bedford
County last night.

The accident was believed to be a
head- on collision.
Two people were reportedly
trapped inside of a van, and at least
two helicopters flew to the scene.

to an accident

southbound vehicle on U-S 220 hit a
guardrail and overturned just south of
the Elm Avenue exit around 7:20.
Traffic was tied up for about
an hour and a half while crews removed
a trapped driver and passenger.
Those two people were taken
to Roanoke Memorial Hospital, though
there's no word on their names or
conditions.

GRAPHIC=Hadden The drug dealer who admitted providing
heroin to weatherman Marc Lamarre has
been sentenced to two years in prison.
The judge told Gilbert Dennis Hadden
this morning that the 21-year old
Detroit native had "flown very close to
where this could have been a terrible
tragedy."
Lamarre, a former W-S-L-S
Meteorologist, suffered a near-fatal
drug overdose last February.
Lamarre survived, but Judge Samuel
Wilson reminded Hadden that he could
have gotten a life sentence if Lamarre
had died.
Sentencing for a local co-defendant in
the case was delayed until next week.

who broke out of the Henry County Jail.

This man, William Marshall Coe
Jr. escaped one minute after midnight
on Sunday.
The Sherriff's Department says he
did it by impersonating another inmate
who was scheduled to be released.
Coe is a white male,
28-years-old, about 5'9 and weighs 210
pounds.
He has multiple tattoos on his
arms, legs and torso.

Gatorland attraction in Orlando that's
reportedly left some reptiles dead.

officials got reports of smoke and
flames at the 110- acre theme park and
animal preserve.
Officials say the fire was in a
building that houses administrative

A zookeeper says snakes, baby

the fire.
There's no word yet on what may have
started the blaze.
