down tonight on Gus Nicks Boulevard.

happened around 6:20 this evening in
the one-thousand block of Gus Nicks.

The woman and child were
crossing the street when they were hit.

They were taken to Roanoke
Memorial Hospital, but there's no word

several hours as they investigated the
accident.

county made it out alive after escaping
a fire this afternoon.

Merrimac Road.

Flames could be seen shooting out
of the front door of their trailer
home.

The power was turned on to the
trailer just minutes before the fire
started.

Fire crews believe it started on

The Red Cross is already stepping
in to help the family.

Mount is facing first degree murder
charges for allegedly shooting and
killing 31-year-old Jake Hairston.

He's facing assault and firearm

conflict of interest.

and Mattern, an engineering firm that
has a contract with the housing
authority.

Fink said that contract was
awarded before he took the job. The

measles, but they are still being
cautious.

Doctors say he had a text book
rash, but the chance he has the measles
