Democrats have something to celebrate..

making Nancy Pelosi the first woman

speaker.

(Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA))

PELOSI 00:15:25 the American people
voted for change and they voted for

Democrats to take the county in a new
direction

Across the country the election played
out as a referendum on the Iraq

War. Democrats handily took the 15
seats they needed to regain House..

picking up three seats in Indiana
alone.

This morning control of the Senate is
up in the air.

ousting Republican incumbents in

Missouri, Rhode Island, Ohio and

seat in Tennessee.

still too close to call.. Democrat

Jim Webb has a razor thin lead likely

If Democrats win Virginia and Montana
they win control of the Senate..

without both seats Vice President Dick

her new job.. President Bush also plans
an afternoon news conference to
