investigating a possible shooting.

accused of killing two people in a
two-state crime spree is headed for a
grand jury.

39 year old Carroll Lineberry is
charged with murder in both Virginia
and Tennessee for incidents over the
Halloween weekend.

He's accused of shooting a school
security guard in Tennessee in the
back, before stealing his car and
leading police on a long chase.

A judge found there was enough
evidence to move the case forward.

Lineberry is also charged with
capital murder in Galax for the
stabbing and beating death of a 75 year
old man.

Kaine failed and a Virginia man was put
to death tonight.

33-year-old John Yancey Schmitt
was executed by lethal injection for
the 1999 murder of a bank security
guard in Chesterfield.

Schmitt's attorneys had filed for
clemency from the governor, but Kaine
declined to intervene.

Schmitt's last words were quote
... "Come on with it."

electricity bill could go up more than
expected.

Appalachian Power has filed a
request with the Virginia State
Corportation Commission seeking
approval to increase fuel components to
customers' bills.

If this happens, Appalachian
customers who use 1,000 kilowatt's an
hour in a billing month will see an
increase of more than three percent,
which is around two and a half dollars.

If passed it won't take affect
until the first of January.

from complications.

award...the 65-year-old journalist had
many defining moments in his career.
Including being the only television
reporter to interview Oklahoma City

the business and one of the most
honorable because of not only his
journalism skills but also his
humanity.

knocked off Grayson County 3 games to
none. Glenvar won it 27-25, 25-11, and
25-13. The Highlanders will play at
home on Tuesday night in the state
quarterfinals.

In the Region 3 semis,
Brookville beat Hidden Valley in four
games, and Cave Spring knocked off
Rustburg in three. The Bees and

hoping to keep alive their national

down the sign and arch at Crossroads
mall on Hershberger Road.

Built in the early 1960's....the
mall was of one the first in Roanoke

Valley.

The arch was added awhile later,
and became the icon for the shopping
center.

The decline of Crossroads began
after Tanglewood Mall opened its doors.

Advance Auto Parts recently moved
some of its corporate offices into the
former Circuit City building.
