Yesterday , Hollins University
students protested the Marriage
Amendment that easily passed in Tuesday
night's elections.....
But they want to make sure the
community knows they're protesting for
both gay and heterosexual unmarried
couples because the amendment will
affect both.
They believe voters don't
understand what this amendment truly
means and are asking it be repealed.

murder charge in Virginia.

39 year old Carroll Lineberry was
formally charged this week with capital
murder and robbery.

and beating Neal Hutton to death in his
Galax home.
He's also charged with killing a
school security guard in Tennessee
Halloween night.
Prosecutors are still deciding
whether to extradite Lineberry back to

Christiansburg business owner who wants
permission to build a paintball field
on his property.

5 to 1 to deny Gilbert Maxwell a
conditional use permit for his one acre
lot despite the planning commission's
recommendation.
A town ordinance created in the
19-80's was one of the main reasons it
didn't pass even though the planning
commission recommended amending the
ordinance.
Maxwell said he was surprised by
the vote and that young people lost big
last night.

wanted to know if viewers think it'll
make a difference in Iraq.

USA poll, 47 percent of those asked
think his resignation won't make a
difference in the war in Iraq.
27 percent think it'll mean more
success, while 21 percent think it'll
mean less success.
But do viewers think it was the
right thing to do?
Apparently so.
Two thirds of those polled say it
was correct, while less than a third
think it was wrong.

Frank Cassell has placed himself on
administrative leave.

Yesterday afternoon, accompanied
by his wife and his attorneys- Sheriff
Cassell held a press conference in
Roanoke.
The sheriff did *NOT* speak to
reporters, but his lawyer read a
prepared statement saying Cassell would
go on unpaid leave until the case was
resolved.
His attorney also said that this
in NO way indicates guilt.
It was last Thursday when Cassell
and a dozen of his deputies, both past
and present. were indicted in federal
court.
The prosecution claims members of
the department stole seized guns and
drugs and sold them back into the
community.
The Sheriff is accused of money
laundering, obstruction, false
statement and covering for his
deputies.

night.

The boy's mother, Cynthia Thomas,
is reported to be in stable condition.
