store owner are mourning his death
tonight, while a Florida man is in
police custody, charged with the crime.

VO-NAT Zaid Almajali (ZAID
AL-muh-JAH-lee) was shot and killed
last night during a robbery attempt at
the Z-mart, the store he owned on
Melrose Avenue.
Roanoke Police arrested 38-
year-old Reginald Killingsworth after a
brief pursuit. He is charged with
murder, attempted robbery and firearms
violations.
39- year -old Mendy Phelps is
facing a charge of eluding police. She
was driving the car that crashed near
the intersection of 8th Street and
Hanover Avenue.
Today, customers paid tribute to
Almajali, saying he was a well-known
and well-liked in the neighborhood, a
good man who cared about his customers.

retail stores face armed robberies.

staff should be properly trained for a

Officers also encourage

that dates back to last year.

last October after failing to stop for
a traffic violation, he led police on a
high speed chase resulting in an
accident.
Turns out he was part of a drug
investigation.
He was charged with possession
with intent to distribute cocaine,

justice.
This week in a Roanoke Circuit
Court, Keeling was given his 22 year
sentence.

Danville, where a brawl erupted outside
the Goodyear plant this morning. It
ended up involving strikers, temporary
workers and the police.
Police had to use pepper spray to
break up a fight between picketers and
two men crossing the picket line.
They also used a taser gun on one
of the two men who had allegedly
attacked a police officer.

21-year-old Kenneth Lamar Harris
and 24-year-old Donnell Trimane Lea are
charged with disorderly conduct ...

Police in L-A say Cardenas is a
