Liberty vs. Amherst Co. It was senior night in Amherst as :00 the parents - the real important -
players joined their sons and daughters
on the field in the pregame.

In the first quarter - Alonzo Poe
would field the Liberty punt and he
could take a knee and get the offense
on the field, but why do that when you
take it 80 yards to the house right
down the field turf to make it
6-to-nothing.

The offense would eventually get
on the field and Poe will take the flip
from Peter Rose and former quarterback
passes it to Derrick McCoy - and the

two will connect for 30 yards on the
play all the way down to the five yard
line.

Jonathan Rose would then finish
off this drive with the TD run.
Amherst takes a 14-to-nothing lead in
the first after the successful two
point conversion.

Liberty would attempt to get off
the mat as Julian Poindexter takes off
on the keeper, but Poe will jack him up
on the Amherst sideline and tempers
flare, penalty flags fly and from that
point on things were little chippy. *CG ffefinal Liberty

Alleghany came out firing on its

Fleming took note, and on its

*CG ffeloc Roanoke
Fuqua vs. Roanoke Catholic The Celtics came in as the top :00 seed in the VIS division one ranks.

Early on, Catholic marched down
the field and Dan Williams calls his
own number off the right side. He
keeps it for the 6 yard touchdown and
it was 7-nothing Roanoke Catholic.

But the visiting Falcons
answered as Thomas Maxey takes the snap
and finds a hole. He breaks a tackle
and scoots to the house, but a missed
extra point kept things at 7-6.

It stayed *CG ffefinal Fuqua that way until the 4th quarter when 21 Fuqua's Joe Donkor scampered 48 yards Roanoke Catholic to paydirt and the Falcons advanced 7 over Catholic 21 to 7.

Davis has used football as a parallel
for life, overcoming several obstacles
along the way to become a rousing
success. And although he's listed as
a receiver, he's done pretty well at
running back too.
FULL SCREEN HEINERS Davis loves to break down the
government in Civics class, and his
ideal night is lounging with a pizza in
front of the movie "Scarface." And
J.R. Writer is often blaring in his

and his fleet feet. The senior opened
the scoring by scooting 74 yards on a
punt return. He also tallied a 65 yard
score on a kickoff return in the second
half. And Davis still had time to find
the endzone on rushes of 23 yards, 56
yards, and 1 yard. He finished with 23
carries for 160 yards, scoring 5 TD's,

and racking up 300 all purpose yards in
helping the Generals earn their first
win over the Hawks in 4 years.

ANDREW DAVIS/PLAYER OF THE WEEK:

BRAD BRADLEY:

TRAVIS WELLS:

ANDREW:

BRAD:

Davis spent some time in the Lynchburg
detention center. While he was there,
Coach Bradley visited often, keeping
his spirits high. In fact, Bradley and
his wife nearly adopted Drew into their
family.

DREW:

BRAD:

Davis and Bradley have leaned on one
another, much like the Generals team
which is on track for a third state
title in the past 5 years.

BRAD:

Davis joins former Generals Cedric
Peerman and Matt Barbour in winning
recent player of the week honors. Both
are playing at the next level, and
Bradley says not to bet against Drew
making that step as well. In Naruna,
