Several months ago, 63 of these fiber
glass Hokie Bird statues were placed
all around the town of Blacksburg.

They quickly got a lot of attention
because several of the birds were
vandalized. In fact, there have been a
total of eleven incidents.

Organizers say what may have been a
joke to some was no laughing matter to
them.

But now, eleven of the statues will be
auctioned off tonight at the Virginia
Tech German Club.

The starting bid is 75-hundred
dollars.

bowl game during the holiday season.

With the Orange Bowl pretty much
out of the question, many members of
the Hokie Nation are hoping for a
Chick-Fil-A Bowl date in Atlanta with
an SEC team.
