Justin, I'm curious, what does the

Natasha, I talked to him by phone.
Chris Landry admits several families
are mad at him, that he owes thousand

He says the problem is donations
dried up after Hurricane Katrina.

However, Natasha, he says the

money... nearly 74-thousand dollars.

The fiber glass statues spent the
summer all over downtown Blacksburg.

They were part of the Gobble de

All the money goes to the
Blacksburg Partnership and will be

According to national guidelines
it should take 90 minutes or less to
get a patient from the hospital door to
treatment... where a clogged artery is
reopened, using a procedure like
balloon angioplasty.

It's a concern local health care
providers like Carilion recognize.

Carilion has implemented a heart
alert program to speed up the process.

As a result, it's average
door-to-balloon treatment time is about
78 minutes.

The doctor says if all hospitals
could meet the guidelines, about a
thousand lives could be saved each
year.

He says PATIENTS also play a role
in getting to the hospital immediately
when they notice symptoms.

The warning signs include chest
discomfort, pain in the back, jaw, arm
or stomach, shortness of breath, nausea
and vomiting, and a cold sweat.
