GRAPHIC=Fatal Accident A single vehicle accident in
Pulaski County left one man dead.
It happened at around 10:20 last
night on Morgan Farm Road.
State Police say a 2000 Ford
Focus ran off the side of the road and
struck and tree.
The driver, 28-year-old Ryan
Taylor Gordon of Radford, was taken to
New River Valley Medical Center and
later died.

Campbell County left another
28-year-old man dead.
This accident happened on
Leesville Road at around 2:00 this
morning.
State Police say that a vehicle
being driven by James Ray Keyes of
Evington ran off the right side of the
road, struck a tree, and overturned.
Keyes was partially ejected from
the vehicle and died at the scene.
He was not wearing a seatbelt.

leader is taking the reigns in Henry
County.

Perry says his first order of

GRAPHIC=CRIME More than 100 catalytic
converters have been stolen out of cars
in Bedford County recently.

Bryan Buchanan runs one of the
four car lots that were hit.
The thieves broke into an un-lit
lot at the far end of his property and
cut the converters right out of the
exhaust pipes.
Though the converters contain
platinum, Buchanan isn't buying the
Sheriff's Department theory that the
thieves are stealing the converters for
their metal content.
He figures the parts themselves
are valuable enough- -at about 40-bucks
apiece-to sell "as is".

GRAPHIC=Honoring a Hero The family of a local Marine who died
in Iraq have suffered even more
hardships than expected.

VO NAT We're talking about the family of
Ryan Howard.
The Alleghany County native died in
August 2004 when his helicopter crashed
in Iraq.
Several months after his death, his
family got involved in the Statues of
Servicemen Campaign.
It's a nationwide effort to build
bronze busts of every U.S. Servicemen
who has died in Iraq.
But the Howard family now feels the
campaign is nothing more than a scam.

inhabit the WEST, are calling Virginia
home and some James River High School
students are on their trail.

students are designing and implementing
a project to determine the distribution
of coyotes in Botetourt County.
Students are asking community
members to fill out a survey that asks
if they've seen coyotes in their
neighborhood.
Once the info is sent back,
students will map it on a computer

It's all part of the plan
according to Mitchell's son, a recent
Virginia Tech grad...He wants to make

company will give a small percentage of
the profits to each customer's charity
