been fired.

Jamey Singleton was "terminated" this
afternoon, though management at the
N-B-C affiliate says it was not related
to Singleton's admission of heroin use.

The station says Singleton was let go
for "violating the morals clause of his
contract."

inappropriate photograph made public by
way of e-mail."

This comes the same day that
another of Singleton's drug suppliers
was sentenced in federal court.

July Chad Honaker HAHN - acre will
serve 2-and-a half years in the federal
pen, after admitting he provided heroin
to Singleton and his fellow
meteorologist Marc Lamarre.

Honaker's sentence could have
been much tougher, if he had not
cooperated with the D-E-A.

Judge Samuel Wilson told Honaker
he'd come very close to earning himself
a LIFE sentence.

after an argument.

afternoon in the Ripplemead area of
Giles County.

The sheriff said two friends had
been drinking when they got into a
fight.

That's when the sheriff said
Thomas Combs and William Pyles stabbed
one another with the same knife.

Pyles was cut under his right
arm, and Combs was stabbed in the
chest.

He was flown to Roanoke Memorial
Hospital as a precautionary measure.

Pyles was charged with malicious
wounding.

Charges are pending against
Combs.

Some doctors fear a clinic would
dissolve private physician practices
and would drive up the cost of

Carilion.....Smoking on hosptial
property will soon be banned at
Lewis-Gale Medical Center and Carilion
Roanoke hospitals.

The health care providers announced
today that starting July 4,
Independence Day, they will be going
smoke-free.

They say they're not against smokers

but this decision is about improving
health care.

Last June, workers were banned from
smoking on site.. Officials say this
was just the next step.

During the transition period the
health care providers say they will
work with their doctors to find
smoke-free alternatives such as
medications or the patch, for patients
who smoke.

with involuntary manslaughter and
reckless handling of a firearm, after a
deadly shooting this morning at a local
motel.

motel on Thirlane Road around ten
o'clock.

They found 25- year- old Latasha
Boardley in one of the rooms. She was
transported to the hospital where
police say she later died.

say has a history of child pornography
charges- is now facing child abuse
allegations.

Castle was arrested yesterday after
authorities say he molested two-boys.

He now faces 15-charges including
forcible sodomy, contributing to the
delinquency of a minor and aggravated
sexual battery.

on capital murder for the shooting and
robbery of another man last spring.

Boyd is receiving a national U-S
Professor of the Year Award today.

According to the University, Boyd
is only the fourth teacher in Virginia

Harley Davidson Bikers hit the
highway in a relay to support our
troops.

They started in California last
week and today they stopped in Roanoke.

Along the way, they've made about
20 stops and at each destination bikers
joined in for a stretch of the ride.

They've raised about 60-thousand
dollars for wounded troops from
Afghanistan and Iraq.

The relay ends tomorrow at Walter
Reed Hospital in DC where they'll
donate the money.
