family lost their son in the Iraq War,
only to face another battle after his
death.

Soon after Ryan Howard died while
serving in Operation Iraqi Freedom, his
family went to work to make sure his
sacrifice wouldn't be forgetten.

They got involved with the
Statues of Servicmen Campaign which is
a nationwide effort that builds bronze
statues of deceased U-S soldiers.

The family never got their
statue.

Instead, they say they got
dupped.

The leader of the campaign says
that's not what happend.

He says donations dried up after
Hurricane Katrina.

So, the Howard family once again
went to work raising money to build
their own statue.

rewarding, yet an emotional day for his
family.

Howard died in Iraq in August
2004 when his helicopter crashed.

He was on his second tour serving
with the United States Marine Corps.

Howard's life comes after a long
journey where the family says they were

Howard.

is dead after an accident on Interstate
81

It happened just after four this
morning near mile marker 126.

Police say Stephanie Anne
Kingrea's Honda Accord rear-ended the
back of an 18-wheeler and got trapped
underneath.

She was pronounced dead at the
scene.

Police have confirmed the victim
was wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol
did not appear to be a factor.

shut down part of the road for nearly
an hour this morning.

Only one car was involved.

Authorities say the driver
slammed into the divider some time
after midnight.

Both lanes had to be closed off
until it was cleaned up.

The driver was sent to the
hospital with non-life threatening
injuries.

He's been charged with reckless
driving and possession of marijuana.

a shooting on Main Street.

Police found a 15-year old boy
who had been shot.

The teenager was taken to

When they got there, they found a
woman who had been shot twice in the
chest.

condition at Lynchburg General.

shoot out on Saturday.

An off-duty secret service agent
was shot while trying to break up a
fight between two teenagers.

One of those teens was armed.

Witnesses say people ducked under
tables in the food court when then
agent and teen started firing at each
other.

Both the teen and agent were hit

killed when a suicide bomber pulled up
to them on this corner in the southern
Iraqi city of Hillah. As the men
gathered around to inquire about work,
the minivan exploded.

In a Baghdad neighborhood, four more
car bombs took their toll.

This witness says innocent people were
killed. More than 100 in all, on Sunday
alone.

Henry Kissinger, who was Secretary of

the future of Iraq in an interview with
the B-B-C.

abducted Thursday by suspected

Real Iraqi troops arrested 200
