GRAPHIC=Fatal Accident An accident on Interstate 81 left
a Roanoke woman dead.
It happened just after four
yesterday morning near mile marker 126
in Montgomery County.
Police say 20-year-old Stephanie
Anne Kingrea's Honda Accord rear-ended
the back of an 18-wheeler and got
trapped underneath.
She was pronounced dead at the
scene.
Police have confirmed the victim
was wearing a seatbelt and that alcohol
did not appear to be a factor.

caused part of the road to be closed
for nearly an hour yesterday morning.

Only one car was involved.
Authorities say the driver
slammed into the divider some time
after midnight.
Both lanes had to be closed off
until it was cleaned up.
The driver was sent to the
hospital with non-life threatening
injuries.
He's been charged with reckless
driving and possession of marijuana.

a shooting on Main Street.

officers went out to the 15-hundred
block after getting reports about shots
being fired in that area.
Police found a 15-year old boy
who had been shot.
The teenager was taken to
Danville Regional Medical Center.

yesterday morning.
When they got there, they found a
woman who had been shot twice in the
chest.
Right now she's in stable
condition at Lynchburg General.
Police have not tracked down the
gunman.

issues for the last year, the Lime Kiln
Theater is climbing out of debt.
At one point, the theater was
close to shutting down for good -
But with diligent fundraising and
dedication from local volunteers, it's
out of the danger zone
The organization has also
restructured it's budget.

family lost their son in the Iraq War.
Soon after, they went about
making a statue to honor him.
Yesterday morning it was
unveiled.

August 2004 when his helicopter
crashed.
He was on his second tour serving
with the United States Marine Corps.
And since his death, his family
has battled to ensure that Howard's
memory lives on, and to make certain
that his contribution isn't forgotten.
In fact, this recognition of
Howard's life comes after a long
journey where the family says they were
duped by the Statues of Servicemen
Campaign, the first organization in
charge of building a bronze bust of
Howard.
